I am finally a proud owner of Silo. Boy is it cool. I must admit that I still love wings and Silo does need tons of work but even still. Its a great app.
I am even making my own interface.
Thought I would give you all a peak.
Also, following a tutorial, this is my first silo model.
If only Z could have modeling tools like wings or Silo…
…I wouldn’t have to do all this prog-hopping.
those are some awesome custom icons MTB. I’ve been working with the Silo demo for the past few days and I’m actually about to buy it tomorrow. It has some great tools in its set.

you did a much better job of following tjnyc than I did! But am easily sidetracked which makes for some happy mistakes sometimes.
it’s a sweet little program and like zbrush worth more than the dollars spent!
I must say that I did not get the hang of Silo. I love the clear concept of Wings but ‘break my fingers’ operating the Silo Demo. Maybe I didn’t understand the user interface well. Is it possible to arange Silo controls so they are as intuitive as Wings controls?

MTB, i bought silo not too long ago but I really don’t like the UI, i looked on the Silo forums and on nevercenter’s site, but i saw no documentation on going about creating custom UI like you’ve done. where can i learn how do do this?
configuring the look of UI to my liking will definately help me learn the program. right now, it’s not going to well.

if you go to display, then down to button settings you will see you can do pretty much what you want.
You can create your own buttons and insert them in place of default buttons too.
take a look, it’s pretty self-explanatory.
side from the small online info they have for download, its just tinkering bud.
I’ve tinkered with Silo themes but havn’t really posted any for download and it is fairly easy to do…the hard part is in the design. 
When I get my website up and running I’m going to start creating tutorials for Silo and creating custom UI’s is on my list so hopefully within the next couple weeks I’ll have some general information on it. …I’m not the best at it but there really is no documentation out there yet on the subject. I hope that once things settle down with the 1.4 release Jamchild and Feed concentrate on some nice documentation along with the video tutorials they’re planning. The interface for Silo right now as it stands should just be a template as to what you can do as far as interfaces go…it shouldn’t be the standard as far as I’m concerned. Er, but right now I’ve been lazy and have MTB’s UI installed…you going to update that bad boy for 1.4?! 
Anyway, I’ll post my tutorial site when I get around to making it…I just finished Meat’s Intro to Zbrush dvd so I’ll be a little preoccupied with Z I’m sure!
