Building Creatures Using ZBrush

Untitled-1.jpg

I have em all and they are very helpful indeed!..A must for ZBers!

hi

just watched the sample clip and I can see a bunch of texturing questions gonna be coming up just from that clip. He uv’s his character with guv tiles with no texture in the texture slot means that it will do it at zb’s default 1024x1024 size which means that folks will be trying to add detail that won’t be showing up.

other than that it looks like it would be a cool dvd.

Looks great to me also, but I have two reservations.
Alex Alvarez ( who is a teacher by profession) has had a dvd out
for awhile called Head Sculpting and Texturing.
Fantastic!!! Also a two disc set.
Many of the chapters on his, looks the same as here.

One major difference, at the end of the sessions Alex took
the maps and objects into Maya and used that as the 3dpackage.
There was only one chapter where this was used, but during the
process the maps and things were more or less Maya directed.
You did not need to have Maya to benefit but is was a great
extra if you did.
In this dvd the program xsi is used:cry:

The reason I am not rushing is that

  1. Is the material the same?
  2. Is it subtly directed to just XSI?

Somebody buy it quick ( hurry up Lemonnado, await your judgement:D )

Ps would like to point out that the author is a constant member here
who never hesitates to offer help and advice.
Not Hit and Run as some.
All things being equal, I support the home team.

When they start realizing that MOST NON-Professionals (read: game modders) are using 3DSMax and not Maya/XSI/Lightwave and include the porting from Zbrush to Max in these DVD’s (maybe in addition to one or two of the others) i’ll be happy/impressed/thankful, and amazed… Though admittedly, I already own 4 Gnomon DVD’s LOL…

This is geared specifically towards Z-Brush and XSI. I’m glad to see more tutorials coming out for XSI because it’s a fantastic package and the newest of the top 4 apps. (Max/Maya/Lightwave/XSI) I’m not sure what is on the Alvarez disc insofar as rigging and posing is concerned but in this new Simms disc he actually envelopes his character and poses it for the final shot, which he then renders with XSI’s native renderer Mental Ray. It looks to be a great resource for XSI’ers and anyone looking to get more training on this app that is growing by leaps and bounds in popularity. I mean, just look at the pic…he’s going to show you how he did that step by step! Even if you are using some other app I’m sure some of the stuff will translate over. (and SLI_Fallen, I’d definitly take a look at what’s happening in the game industry and what companies are adopting XSI into their pipeline. Valve, Pandemic, Konami, Capcom, Bizarre…the list goes on. The pendulum appears to be swinging and learning Zbrush along with XSI will probably really put you in a good position here in about a year or two. Everyone else is going to be scrambling to gain the knowledge…and you’ll already know

It’s a KILLER D.V.D.!!
About 3 1/2 hours ZBrushing and the rest in XSI (which I do not have.) But I am learning Modo too

So how does this differ from Aarons other DVD’s, it looks the same but different from here…
