can somebody help i cant seem to watch any of the gnomon dvds on my pc which is a vista. i can hear the sound but all im getting is a white screen. they both work on my lap top which is xp iand i have installed quicktime.
just browse yourself in the folder and open the .mov files.
i can’t imagine, they don’t work. i just watched them myself on a vista machine.
maybe you haven’t installed the newest version (which was my fault when it didn’t work)
Make sure you have latest Quicktime installed. .mov is an apple extension.
Remember that you also have to have the correct codec installed-
Google ‘ensharpen’ codec
ya, gnomon disks are using a different codec now that you need to have installed to watch the videos. it says something about it at the beginning of the disk that you need to install it to watch the videos. it’ll tell you what to do.
I use Vista 64 and Quicktime, and my Gnomon files play like a charm.
In the readme it says:
QUICKTIME SETINGS
QuickTime Settings for proper contrast viewing of H.264 videos on PC computers.
- Open Quicktime
- Click on the Edit tab and go to Preferences,
- When inside click on the Quicktime Preference open the Advanced tab,
you will see a selection for Video or Direct X. - Click on Safe mode (GDI only).
- Then click on Apply, then OK.
- *Restart Quicktime and play a movie to test.
*Be sure to restart QT or the changes won’t take effect.
But who reads readmes?
