Gizmo handles not aligned with world coordinates

I noticed there are different Gizmo configurations, and I have been trying out a couple of them. I noticed on one of them that the X axis handle is not oriented properly to the World coordinate system. (see screenshot) The X handle on the Gizmo is pointing towards negative X. Is there a way to reset this so that it is configured the same as the default Gizmo?

Hello @bebeaux

You can re-orientate the gizmo on the fly by unlocking it, and facing it in the direction you wish, then re-locking it.

If you’d like to change that specific gizmo to be oriented a specific way by default, you can just customize it. Michael Pavlovich has a nice video on customizing Gizmos.

Yes thanks, the Pavlovich videos are tremendous. Been watching them for weeks.
The problem is, for instance if I want to move the subtool to the World axis center in preparation for a Mirror and Weld operation, I will first Go to Unmasked Mesh Center, Alt+Reset Mesh Orientation, and then Mesh to Axis. With the default Gizmo, and most of the other ones as well, the Gizmo correctly shows me the sense of the axes, and so I can be assured of Mirroring the proper side of the model. With the Gizmo pointing towards negative X, I need to check the orientation of my subtool against the Floor, which is only possible if the subtool is small enough to expose the red, blue, and green axis indicators.

I am aware that I need to submit a ticket to Pixologic support.

I understand the problem. :slightly_smiling_face:You can create a custom Gizmo based on the one you want to use to correct it.
