Girl in black dress :D

Hey friends. i have now class with Ryan Kingslien at Gnomon, i am Learning a lot. This is my first concept in Z brush, i took a picture taken by johnrey 54 and i want to make a 3d model of it in Zb, this is what i have got so far, i am not that good right now, but i am improving slowly and slowly, and i am undertaning how the ZB pipeline works.

first picture is the reference that i want to make and teh second is the rogress that i have got so far.

  1. the head and the neck is lil messed up as i am having hard time understanding the posture works. if any one can point out what i am doing wrong i’ll appriciate that.

  2. hands are not attached, and i will not attach and they will be covered by the glove she is wearing.

  3. For the hair i think i will do shave and haircut in maya. what do you guys suggest.??

  4. Dress is incomplete but i want to share what i have right now.

  5. NOTE - you guys are welcome to crit on anything that u think is going wrong and is bad, i want to try my best making this piece as good as i can.

I have taken the permission of the artist who took this picture.

I HAVE NOT YET POSED THE HEAD , I KNOW IT WILL BE BENT BACKWARD’
good time guys.

Hi some updates on the model ,
Fixed her proportions. I had a symetry problem and had really hard time solving it, Thanks Ryan K.

*.dress her gloves are not final, details will be added later,
*.Blocked her face out and posed the neck.
*. temp hair as i dont want to make her Bald
For some reason i feel her neck is not right, i dont know i am nto sure, may i think if just because i have not done the hair yet.

critics are welcome. Ryan what do you think so far. if you are on this page

i think the clavicles need some rotation upwards (towards the head). the way the arms are bent up and back like that, i’m sure there would be some clavicle rotation.

This is looking really good. Keep going. I would suggest to add more detail to the knees and elbows as they look a bit too smooth to me. The hair from the reference is flowing downward. The hair on the current one looks wet since it is sticking to the head and neck. I would add a subtool of some hair that can drape down. Maybe use Zspheres to create it?

Looking cool! Just keep on working, the more you refine the larger forms, the more the smaller forms will fall into place. I think all of the forms have a lot of refinement needed before they look realistic. It’s all really smooth, but really early too, so that’s normal. One opinion I have, which you may share, is that you should eventually do the hair as a separate subtool, otherwise your topology will be all messed up. I don’t think your temp hair will get in the way of that. Good luck! :+1:
