General knowledge question: Saving new file without old subtools

Hello,
when I have a big document with many subtools and I want to start with a new fresh file,
so until now I always restarted zBrush to get rid of all the subtools.
Because even when I create a new empty document, all the subtools stay there and will be saved again.
Which is the proper way of doing this without closing zBrush?

thanks…

You can:

  • Initialize Zbrush (Preferences > Init Zbrush). This will return Zbrush to defaults and purge all custom content.

  • Delete an individual tool from the session with the “Delete all” command (also note the useful “delete other” function). Once deleted, it will not be saved in the new project file if you save the .zpr out.

  • If all you need is to save a new tool, and not all the additional information a .ZPR file saves., you can simply start working on a new tool, and save it out from the current session.
