Gaming PC or normal PC for zbrush and editing

Hi guys,
Between Gaming PC and normal PC which is best for zbrush or editing, is there any difference.
Which is better intel or AMD, I’ve been using intel for the processor for a long time, not familiarize with AMD.

With a gaming PC the graphics card is arguably the most important component. However Zbrush uses the CPU so a PC with a really good CPU and 16+GB ram would probably be more than enough.

I tend to use Intel because I feel Intel processors are better, don’t know if there is any real difference though.

My current computer is a gaming computer which is fine because I do plenty of gaming but I don’t need the high end graphics card I have for Zbrush.

I’ve just sunk money into a ‘new’ machine- actually a new build of ‘last gen’ X99 fun. Plenty of punch for ZB and not a ‘bleeding edge’ bank account killer. Most would classify this as a gaming sys by looking at the parts, but it’s all about cg for me. Got 15 game titles out, I don’t play them.

My only real experience with AMD chips were ones that ran very well, but in an HP dual proc Z8XX series (used em in anim at LFL). My own rigs have always been Intel.

i7 5820K, though you could step up to a 5930K for 200 more. (3.3 vs 3.5 GHz)
Asus X99-A
32G RAM
gtx 980Ti

Won’t bore you with the rest, but the above is solid and fast.
