Fruit Bowl stage 1 (121)

I’ve been trying to produce a more suble image today - which started off with a tangerine and ended up with a tomato!

Can anyone advise me on distorting images radially so that I can add some more complex items to the bowl probably starting from spheres? I did try the JScript tutorial but it went a bit too fast to pick everything up.

Thanks

I like your background a lot.
I cannot help you with the modeling, but I am certain that your question will soon be answered.

you can slow the scripts down under the scripts icon, click on show actions and under the modifiers I think is where you slow down the play time of the script…yer off to a good start
:+1: also try this link…there are alot of good tools on the thread…

Great image :+1: I really love that background. Awesome texture and sense of depth.

As for radially editing. I’m not quite sure what your asking. But you can find the switch to turn on it, under modifier|symmetry|radial

Just slide ths slider up or down, depending on your preference.

Looking good…and the tomato is a fruit so it can be in your fruit bowl.

Hi,

using radial modelling is easy and fun.

first draw a sphere and position it like the first image, the yellow is the Z axis. By having it at an angle it makes it easier to see how your modelling looks.

then go into edit mode. and turn on radial symmetry and turn on the Z axis. if you want smooth circular modelling like you were using a lathe , use a big number like 50 or more. If you want pointy symmetry use something smaller like 12.

You will see a red circle of editing points.

It is now simply a matter of stroking the sphere. you can use Z add with varying intensity. Remember that you can press the alt key and Z add will turn into Z minus so that you can keep stroking the shape while alternately adding or subtracting

It’s probably best to start with the move mode to get a basic shape. the move mode can be very dramatic.

once you start it is very addictive. You’ll be surprised how easy it is.

here’s a very simple script.

Thanks Thelonius. :+1:

That was the sort of thing I was looking for. I am being to get the hang of things a bit more (see my latest post) but there sure are a lot of talented people here to learn even more from.
