French Art Colleges - your recommendations please

Dear All who may be in the know…

A friend of mine is moving to France and one of his children wishes to study either illustration or computer 3D arts.

As yet the boy is only 16 and hopes to apply in a few years from now.

Any recommended colleges that are the best in these fields would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps also a brief summary of what is expected of a student to gain entry to a french art school would be greatly appreciated.

Choosing a college is a very complex process, as in the best traditions of William Shakespeare, to be or not to be. On the one hand, I want to go to college with a good curriculum in order to be competitive in the labor market; on the other hand, in my experience, this is not always important. I know good programs in Berlin, but my dream is to live in Paris and my wife also wants to go to art college.
