Free Objet 3D Print

Hey guys!

So we purchased an Objet 260V and we’re looking for some good promotional material to stick up on our blog, put into our brochures etc…

We do a lot of medical and Industrial design stuff but we’d really like to break into the games character development scene by providing studios and 3D artists with prints off our 3D printer.

The thing is though – it’s hard to advertise to that community when you have nothing to pique their interest!

Hence me posting up here. What I’d like to offer (a selected few people, that is!) is a free 3D print, in Vero Gray, 200mm tall. We would print one for you, and we would keep one as a marketing tool. Of course, your name/signature/credit would always be displayed on all of our stuff.

So we’re looking for a max of 3 artists - if you’d like to submit some artwork, send some renders onto [email protected]

PM me with a couple of renders of what you’d like to get done. You must be able to save your model as an STL, and be wary of things like gravity when considering 3D printing!

Might help to post a bit more info. Looks like you’re in Ireland.

Yes - fire away. What kind of Info would you like?

Any other takers? Just 2 people applied so far. I though a 3D print would be inticing! Especially a free one!

Offer still good? I have a dragon that might be interested in coming to life.

Sure! Do you have any renders/screen grabs?

Interested. Does your printer include also the texture painted colors?
What about details? Does it grab a good amount of them from the sculpt?

Cheers,

Fabrizio

No, it will be a gray print. This one was done on the same machine as ours by legacy effects

Did you get my screen grab of the dragon? Will it work?

I got your dragon and there are a few slight problems I could see straight off the bat - you have those thick moustaches/horns will probably snap off in the cleaning process. We’re still waiting on other people to submit their 3D renders, and then we’ll make up our minds and post up the 3 renders of the models we will do on this thread, so if you have anything with less fragile features let me know.

Here’s the first print - Is it a bird? Is it a plane? NO! It’s SUPER TIKI!!!

All credit due to Ralf Stumpf for his incredible work. 200mm high, printed on high res (16um layers) on an Objet printer

FYI

We have found 3 artists and will be printing their stuff over the coming weeks (Ralf Stumpf being one of them)

Thank you to all the ZBrush community for your excellent submissions!
