Frank Bullitt

hi,

Thought i would try and model a realistic head of somebody famous to increase my sculpting skills in Zbrush.
Im trying to make Steve Mcqueen from the film Bullitt, hopefully youll be able to tell from the image who it is but its still early stages just now.
This is the first time i have tried to model anyone recognisable so if anyone has any hints and tips i would love to hear them.

comments are most welcome, even at this early stage.

Good job so far. WHat I see - his nose should be wider a bit and nostrils a bt more high. As well mouth not so wide. Waiting for updates - good actor, not like those sissys that we have in movies nowdays (spiderman… pleaaaassseeeee… )

With some minor adjusting, and considering you’re just starting, you are pretty damn close already. :+1:

nice work! bullitt rocks…one of the best car chase scenes of all-time!

looking forward to seeing this progress.

Close resemblance , except he seems to have less defined upper eyelids then in your model.

hey ! really cool strat , and good choice of character.
can’t wait to see it finished.
cheers

hi guys,

This has been harder than i first thought, every time i get him looking good from 1 direction he looks bad from another lol :frowning:
I am finding it difficult to get the same surface detail that i have in Zbrush in my Maya MR renders, but i think i just have to get used to what setting to change.
Decided to use the Maya fastskin SSS for the first time on this model so its been a learning experience in Maya as well.
Could really do with some comments on this image as i have been looking at it for too long and dont know where to start with my alterations.

The hair is just photoshoped onto the image just now, going to try and learn how to do hair after i get him looking more like steve.

I noticed several differences when I saw the raw model for the first time but I prefered to keep my mouth shut because I can’t make a better model myself, can I?

OK, the overall shape of the original is somewhat steeper from the cheek bones towards the chin.

I made up this diagram to make things a bit more clear.

Also the chin itself is more squared up on your model while it is softer and a bid more rounded on the original.
It is not that pronounced and does not stand out that much as on your model.

The nose on the original is more rounded and a tiny bit fatter.
It is more pointy on your model.

The eyes on your model are looking too far right. The guy looks cross-eyed or like he is performing a trick with his eyes to make his buddies laugh.

Another thing: the lower lip seems to be thicker on the model.

Hope this helps and please don’t kill me.

Hi,
I finally got some time to work on this model,
Im still trying to get better hair reference to work with so please ignore the hair just now

would love to hear your comments so far.

He’s definitely recognizable now! Looking very good.
