Fractal Origami

I got interested in Juandel’s reflection experiments while I was diddling with some ideas. I just liked the “Pretty Colors”

Too much to do, landscapes, fractals, reflections, rust (to come) and all the stuff I haven’t thought of yet.

pretty is an understatement. muy bien, Digits! my agenda looks exactly like yours: i just have to add multiple widgets-lessons, about 5 southern-scripts, reconstructing Kruzr’s priceless advices and many others… looks like i’ll be busy until v. 3.23.

So powerful my eyes nearly had an “Origami” when they saw it!! Beauty !!

this image is sweet to look at and digits i was just wondering how did you do the green lines…wow great pic…

I love the pretty colors too and I love
the whole picture!

Visually Interesting! Nice Blend of colors!

Looks like you’re getting the knack for these kind of things Digits!

Keep up the good work!!

ever try (transparent) your pic?
here’s a sample i just transparent a pic of mine using your pic i hope you don’t mine.
very colorfull i couldn’t help it lol

Beautiful, DIGITS! Just beautiful!

This is great …look how many creatures there are, on the bottom right a blue faced wizard, a orange corset type dress above the wizard and a strange alien king sitting on his throne his head being the centre of the pick flower pattern on left. So magical, thanks Digits

Hey Digits, I’ve beenaway doing a networkng course and have to do some serious catching- up! Could you point me to Juandels reflection tip you metioned. There’s so much to read!!
Upham

Thanks people for the nice responses.

Doc, The green filament thingys are made by the KPT Frac Frame plugin, I used the fractal that I generated as fog with hardly any alpha map to it. I find that not only can you use this neat feature to make fog type images you can use it to actually create a image, a image that has the effect of enveloping in Zdepth whatever you have in your layer. I liked the effect this generated in this image because of that, it is enveloping the other objects in the scene and it looks like the green filaments are affecting my origami guys

EZ you have discovered the texture transparency feature, cool! Thanks for your suggestion but actually I make much use out of that in this image, as well as transparent Material and Reflection. The Origami (what I call them anyway) are made with KPT textures with the transparency set on in the Texture palette, so that the black areas of the texture show thru to the background causing it to have that holey appearance. Also I used the texture map as a mask and pressed HidePts in the Tools:Selection pallete to give the same appearence except now this state of affairs is saved with the tool and you can also then deform it.

Before I added the fog the experiment I was doing using neato Juandel data was more apparent, but you can still see some in the image along the bottom. I don’t know if it is a little known fact or not but ordinarily you can’t have fog with Flatten Layers OFF (which you need off to get true transparency) but… if you make sure that you have your transparent layer selected and you first Best Render your image with Flatten Layers ON it will render the image with Fog and Shadows but no transparency. Now “UNSelect Flatten Layers”, Zbrush will re-render the scene adding the transparency but leaving the shadows and Fog in the other layers!

Sunny, you bring up an interesting theory of the nature of the universe believe it or not! It is called the “Floydian Theory” I think that I proved it in my image “The Thoughts Within” where I actually captured the thought patterns generated by our Pixol creations. Now you combine the power of “Pixols” with the mathematically generated chaos made to conduct themselves orderly phenomenon called “Fractals” you then might get something akin to “Genisis” whereas the Pixols and Fractals combine to make something completely new and unexpected. Such is the case with your acute observation of my image finding faces, women, clothing etc… I swear I had no hand in that! This is exacting scientific proof that life exists in many forms and is always struggling to create itself. I will have to do more experimenting to see what else may appear sublimely from this reaction!

Upham - the thread I was referring to is this one
liquid terrain - help needed re: reflections

some good stuff there!

Robo, your hilarious post reminded me of a story my father told me. He was teaching a college class and listening to people give thier oral reports. This one gal got up in front of the class and began
“The Cold Virus is caused by a Origami too small for the naked eye to percieve”

(just substitute origami with the obvious)
Anyhoo, I still get a chuckle out of it

Note:
lest you all think I am just weird, insane or both about my theories, I assure you that everything I say is a joke. I am a perfectly normal guy except for my third leg.
