fotorealistic man with beard

Hi
I had the idea to sculpt a friend of mine who has a beard. But

first: it’s one of my first sculpts I try fotorealistic
second: I just have a picture with hair for texture and I realised that this is very difificult and the light also is not so good.

For a man with beard, do you composite the texture with others so that you have no hair anymore?

What about the beard? I tried with Fibre Mash, but I have to take very high length, and it looks at all not like the beard example picture.
When i change the ScaleRoot and ScaleTip I don’t have the feeling the hair is thicker.

Do you have some tips maybe?

It’s really difficult, all Artists who can sculpt fotorealistic are very very good I think. :-))

Tanks for feedback.

Denise

What you see in the preview isn’t the same as what will appear in a properly executed render. LOTS of settings to tweak in several places

Fibremesh takes practice to find settings that work best for your particular needs such as beards, eyelashes, belly hairs etc.
your beard looks to be too fine and straight. I suggest less fibres and thickening up the others. Play with variations in the length, curl etc.
