Here is a different lighting setup, i am interested in what people think looks better between this and the slightly more over cast?

Just a quick mock up of how i want the background to be. Not very neat or colour corrected at the moment but its got the rough feel. I plan on modelling the imediate fore ground with some human objects, maybe a village to give a true sense of scale

This looks awesome man, I would maybe add a lot more plant life growing in and around his armor to make the overall appearance believable. I’m curious what the back and side views look like and how this castle actually fits onto him. That last image on the beach is very nicely done. Excellent work! :+1: :+1:

This is very nice. Looking forward to seeing the final image.

May I ask how you textured and rendered this?

Benjw703 - Thanks! I have done another pass on the armor with some of your suggestions included.

jbuck - I have used several renders to do different passes, for spec and sss etc. The skin is a very old version of Brazil renderer. For the textures I made them in photoshop as a base and then retouched them in zbrush. Then ther is alot of matte painting style and retouching in photoshop.

Here i have tweaked tha backdrop and made another pass over the castle

I am starting to feel like I am close to the end with this, so any more suggestions to help polish it are most welcome.

It’s getting toward top row quality…
Has Lilliputian-Pythonesque undertones. Nice job.

Love it , don’t have any critics worthwhile. Perhaps check the strong field of depth blur on the small chains on the left, it seems a bit out of place.

Top row material. :+1: :+1:

Awesome! Great concept. Something new. How pleasant!
Lemo

the only crit i can possibly make, is if he is a giant then why does he have a skull on his belt(did he kill a huge cowcreature or?), and why from where did he got his chains…you may rethink the way the castle holds on his shoulders…but that’s just me.
i really love the texture work, and the whole scene is very well done!
good job!

pride - thanks!

The Namek - well spotted I have tweaked that now, thanks!

lemonnado - thanks!

Pooop - Thanks for the comments. I imagine the skull came from some huge beast he killed in the past. As for the chains, I am not too worried about them I quite like the way they sit at the moment.

Here is what may be the final version, unless anyone has any further ideas, Thanks for all the help!

Now that someone has mentioned the chains. It would make more sense if there was a hint of chains on his back too, that would basicly hold his shoulder gear in a balanced state. His arms look a bit empty, perhaps add some wristbands in the same type of worn cloth as his skirt.

I like it a lot , a shame it’s not really wallpaper format  :+1:

Very nice improvements! He’s definitely looking a little more weathered. You have a very good work flow I can tell, the character transitions into the background quite nicely. Keep it going bro! :+1: :+1:

That is really awesome man. It is inspiring to see work like this. 5 Stars! :+1:

really nice…

I haven’t seen anything this magical since I was a kid.

That’s just awesome. Really great. Looking at it is like being a kid again.

Thank you.

Very Cool Character! :+1:

Great character man, really pleasant to see something new,5 stars for sure.keep it up.:+1:
