Foreshortening - WIP

My latest ‘character’, which has taken far too long to create. This time I used grab-alpha to make the hair properly modeled although I’m not 100% sure about it still.

Main thing I like about this is the foreshortening that I was experimenting with. I also learned to turn Quick Edit OFF! How dumb am I - I’ve been drawing with it on for the last 3 months.

Just need to come up with a background now. Comments welcome.

i will appreciated if you can make a workflow of this masterpiece¡¡:+1:

You are in right Andreseloy…
Well done, i’m waiting for the background

i like this char, especially her cloth! Is it full ZBrush? Maybe ZSpheres? looking forward to the background and maybe some closeups and wireframes, too?

good work!

Excellent work. I really like the leg/chap things. Pretty cool design.

I really like it! The face seems kinda weird, but the rest of the model is lovely detailed - great work!

And, what is so bad about modeling with QuickEdit turned On? I’m always sculpting with QuickEdit on!

The final pic. Not entirely sure about the background and my rendering options but it will have to do - mainly because I’ve had enough of this one now. Came out a little darker than anticipated. I do like the feel of depth the final image has. All zbrush.

Hope you like.

I like that one - especially for the the nice cloth details!
i cant figure out how to do…? Only her skin seems to be too white.

:+1:

…a reminiscence of one personnage of Kill Bill by Quentin Tarantino ?

Nice job! Really like all the costume details. The hair worked out well too! We’d love to see a break down of the elements you’ve put together to create this moody scene! Any chance? Did you use zspheres seperately for her coat? How many pieces are are we looking at? Sorry for all the questions - nice work!

I’ve never done a breakdown of my work before so I figured I would give you a few examples. If you want to know something specific I’ll try to answer you.

First of all much of this was created following some of the tips in this thread -

http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=5563&highlight=cartoon

I didn’t use any zspheres becuase I just cant seem to get to grips with them. Mostly I use normal spheres, cylinders and the flat square tool. Bear in mind I am much more of a 2d artists rather than a 3d modeller.

As I said, if there is anything specific you would like to know then post here and I will see what I can do to explain my somewhat chaotic work process.

I like the depth. The way you modeled the cloth is nice too.

sephellius, at the bottom of any shader channel that has the Reflectivity modifier…

Thanks Aurick. I figured it out just before I saw your post.

sephellius, at the bottom of any shader channel that has the Reflectivity modifier, you will see a small texture patch. This shows the texture that will be used for the reflection effect. To change it, simply click on the patch and select a new one from any materials that are loaded in the Texture palette.

Nil, thanks for the tut, very clear and useful.

Thanks Nil, its so interesting to see how different people approach different problems! your solution for the hair works really well! The hand is like the skirt? …just what you see? Does she exist beneath her clothes?(I’m sure I’m not the only guy who hopes so) You certainly have created the illusion of a complete figure! Great work.
Thanks for showing us your methods so clearly!

Great work, it’s nice to see a finished image instead of w.i.ps (I’m just as guilty of that) 100% ZB :+1:, I’m impressed…:sunglasses:

Nice to get some feedback.

Herdmann - yup, it’s pretty much all an illusion. She kind of ‘exists’ under all those clothes, but in a very basic way i.e. just a rough form which helped me with the painting/modelling of the clothes.

I’m shattered!
