ZBrushCentral

for the poser people ...

just stumbled upon this tutorial, thought you might find that interesting:
http://www.fantasticarts.com/2tutorials/losingthatposerlook.htm

the rest of the site is worth a look either, though it looks like there’s major construction works going on

An interesting tutorial, El_Pix…
As someone who used Poser for years, it was enlightening to see the techniques, even though I knew most of them. There seems to be a mini-war between so-called ‘purists’ like me, and others who believe everything is just another tool…I agree with the basic philosophy.
What I see though, is a powerful software package like ZBrush being capable of ‘Poser-Plus’! To learn to model a human figure in ZBrush takes time and patience…I personally think it is a good investment of your time to do so. I would never hold up anything I’ve done so far as a perfect work, in fact my efforts are a stumbling toward competency. With ZBrush, however, everything I model is mine. I would not like to use something another artist did as a work of my own…I cannot say I appreciate ‘Poser’ ZBrush works, as much as I respect even a fumbling attempt at a human figure modelled entirely in ZBrush. By all means, people should use whatever they want in the way of software, if it increases their speed of execution for commercial production…
I am lucky, however. I produce what I want, when I want, and have a market for all I produce. I don’t have ‘deadlines’. I do art for arts sake. To me, we are on the verge of an artistic horizon none of us could have foreseen, and I would rather spend my time working entirely in ZBrush, developing a facility with it, that will set me up for the fantastic graphic future I think we are all going to experience…
The skills are there as a potential…Only study, patience, dedication, and belief in our own abilities to learn will enable us to fulfill the promise of this amazing software.

Sorry for the rant, and thank you for the site. I want to assure you all that I am not a purist because of ‘snobbery’…I am a purist because I think we have all we need in ZBrush if we only learn to take advantage of all its power.

Thanks _pix.

I didn’t know about this site… :+1:
