I’ve watched this tutorial quite a few times and I have it down pretty good. But I’m stumped by a couple things. Number 1: how do they hollow out the inside of the flashlight where the lens would be? I can’t get my cursor to go down in there. When I tilt the cylinder and try to, the cylinder just moves. (I have it in draw mode.) And number 2: I can’t paint on the end of it either. When I try, the paint ends up down around the neck where it starts to widen. (I thought I had it figured out. When I painted on the mask, I thought I needed to tilt it to make sure that I was getting the ends too. Later in the tutorial, you reverse the mask. But by the time you paint, you’ve removed the mask completely anyway. I was also wondering how do they make such a smooth groove into the side of the mess. Either they must have an incredibly steady hand, or I just need practice or I’m doing something wrong because mine always looks a little rough. Thanks.
Hey Kevin,
Have you tried playing back the script with show actions turned on and perhaps a delay? (500 is the standard or so)
This will show you the subdivision on the flash light where the details are concerned.
