First ZB3 General Available Version Artwork

Update: Extended till Friday the 25th !!!

Post the image here with less than 200KB as usual. The large image size mentioned below is relevant for the winner of the print!!!

To celebrate the upcoming release of the long awaited ZB3 Version I decided to present the following Challenge:

The first nice Image (pretty one please!) should be posted here.

The reward for the winner:

If the original file (before compression for ZBrush Central) is emailed to me (lemonnado at gmail.com) then the submitter will receive a 17 Inch 12 color giclee print on heavy fine art paper from his submission in a sturdy protective cardboard roll.

Good Luck!
Lemo

PS:Image resolution for the print should be at LEAST 1024x768 Pixols, and size should be less or equal to 5MB. All rights remain by the creator, image file will be erased after the print, this is a fun competition and not some scam.

PPS:Submission stop is the 16th. Drawing of the winner is the 17th. Judge is JBakutis (http://www.zhibit.org/jbakutis) so I cannot be blamed for the outcome
 .

PPPS:Sadly… Beta Testers are excluded. And… please… don’t prepare stuff in ZB2 and then load and submit it in ZB3… Keep it fair! Start when you get ZB3 going for the first time.

Nobody? Huh?!

a. I suck so there’s no point.
b. I haven’t had much time for zb3
c. See (b) above, I’m still trying to figure out which end is up in the new interface.

Hey, anyway, here’s a neat thing. I tried to make a 3600x5100 image in zbrush, and it let me! So you can do your 12x17 image in full 300 dpi straight up in zbrush now. Call me kooky, but I think you might be asking for a crash fest if you do that right now.

BTW, here’s my entry. I call it. “Faux Zbrush Ground Plane in Full 300 dpi Glory” Well, ok, it’s not really an entry, but have a look anyway.

:o It looks like trying to upload an image of those dimensions makes ZBC’s file upload crap out. So here’s a link to the monster file (don’t be afraid it’s only 140K)

I think you should extend the deadline a bit. People are still just getting it! I’ll definately enter. I just need a bit more time to work out a picture.

Is this over? the deadline looks like past tense…

No, I just extended it till the next friday. We all need more time ;).
Lemo

So, what’s a ‘nice’ image? Do Monstermakers images count too?

Hmmmmm, not a single image. So, I call it off. I must have offended people with my free offer of a large print in museum quality including free worldwide shipping. I apologize for any grief my actions have caused and promise betterment. I just wanted to share my enthusiasm for the new release. I guess I went a bit over board with that.
Again, I’m so sorry…
Lemo

Silly guy,
As you well know, the US is gearing up for a Fat Man Eatin’ day. Give everyone some time to work on their artwork after a good burp.

Edit: didn’t see that this was two weeks old. Eek, my bad.

Hehe, if you open it up, I’ll be sure to win. Staying tuned…

Aoooww Lemo! You haven’t offended us, as you know well. To me it seemed awesome to have a price connected to the contest, very generous! I’ve never produced an image with ZBrush that was good and finished enough to compete in anything. I didn’t want to waste your price on a lousy WIP.
I truly think we are all still so busy with exploring all the new features and techniques… In some ways it’s like learning the program anew. (for me it’s the first time I learn it properly ) I think in a few weeks more finished works will start to appear in stead of all the Red-waxed-Wips, and I do believe people would like to enter your challenge very much when they start feeling confident with Z3.
All the best
Plakkie
p.s. I’ve never read a down Lemo-post before, it’s heart-breaking.

Lemo

I’ll restart it when the frenzy has simmered down!
Lemo

Aaah, much better!

Maybe I’ll try to compete. Are there any other rules apart from it being a “Nice pretty picture?”

Lemo- Nice idea and challenge, thats a generous prize you offered my friend :+1: :+1: . Dunno how I missed this thread, too much experimenting in ZB3 at the moment for me I guess. The quality of artists that exist here, doubt I’d win but could be fun trying. Though as most have said, still trying to learn this thing decently… will be watching this thread for when its restarted.

lol LEMO, your post made me laugh mate, I had ambitions of taking this prize but couldn’t focus my energies into finishing anything… I was way too busy just freaking out at the new potential of this awesome package and jumping from project to project to project. I’m up for a serious challenge or two over the coming months tho;)

Nice means you like it. It means you think it’s something other might enjoy looking at. Nothing else. No value statement. Just a request for quality, where quality shall be defined by the creator. Everyone sees art differently, it is not on me to define what is nice. Effort is also relative.

And I think we should have a poll in the end.

The World’s Z-Idol competition

…rofl…

Lemo

PS: Judge Lemo would like to sit next to Paula Abdul! She’s cute!

Ack, I really want to enter this, the prize is so awesome! I just have to think of something that I can commit and get a final image that could be a sweet print.

I’m really busy with exams now, but in a month, I’ll be free and I’ll definately enter!
