First Wings 3D rendered creation...

Well this is the first thing I have actually rendered and kept from messing with wings. I have absolutely no idea what it is :rolleyes: I was just trying to learn various functions. I tried wings last year and couldn’t make heads nor tails of it, but somehow this year it makes more sense. I might even get the hang of it. Don’t think much of the rendering engine though. Too bad you couldn’t export into Zbrush, oh well…

any trick or tips you guys might have, I would be very appreciative of receiving them.

DUDE!!!

Use Export- OBJ… and save your file…

then in Zbrush in the tool pallett, press the import button and select your OBJ file :slight_smile:

if have problems importing model for some reason,

get model in wings… select all faces … and select testelate-Quads…If you plan on useing in real time rendering engine/game use TRIangulate…

Zbrush likes quads better… but will work with tris also…

You can import from Wings to Zbrush and from Zbrush to wings. From wings to Zbrush do as Polaris tells you. From Zbrush to Wings export as an obj but always disable the export sub groups option( the “grp” button.).

Yeh, guys thanks. I think it must be the quad thing because I know how to import and export I just kept getting error messages from Zbrush. I will try your suggestion Polaris.

I shouls show you my first wings model…you’d laugh…I’ll fish it up tonight.

This is good for the first. A suggestion if you haven’t done so already. DL andprint out the manual…helps tons.

And yeh I did download the manual but I can’t print it as my dumb printer is acting up, won’t print in black for some reason… I could always print it in purple I guess…

Go there for my first try with Wings3D :smiley:
For me it was an jungle island but you can see also a chocolate cake (dixit KingSalami)
I am entierely agree :slight_smile:
(I have used the function mirror maybe a lot :slight_smile:
It’s a very funny prog and look that MtB make with it here or that !
