First Post the Past

Hi there! I’ve not posted to ZBrush Central before but I’m an old hand at this sculpting lark – I’ve been making toys for over twenty years; action figures, game pieces, collectibles, bubble bath bottles, you name it, I’ve probably done it. I’m relatively new to ZBrush having only really started using it properly about two years ago. I use Keyshot to render so very little imagery is actually generated from within ZBrush.

This is a sculpt I did for Big Chief Studios as part of their 1:6 scale Doctor Who range, it’s Clara Oswald, the 11th/12th Doctor’s assistant.

The first image is when she was a work in progress, the hair was just blocked in at this stage and the expression still needed refining.

Final sculpt turnarounds

And in colour…

Final sculpt

Close up in colour (I added Fibermesh eyebrows and eyelashes to try and push the “uncanny valley” envelope a little, one day I’ll do a full head of Fibermesh hair)

The hair needed to be engineered for manufacturing…

A bit of atmosphere to finish on - hope you like her!

Really nice to see you on here Ed, your work deserves to be seen!! :+1:

Yeah I really like it as well! Especially the facial expression makes the head come alive. Just starting out but in my opinion one of the hardest things to do in figure sculpting.

Thanks for the nice comments folks!
