Ive been looking at these awesome forums for a while and have finally had the time to attempt my own work - comments and criticisms welcomed -
Excellent wrinkling and detail, but I think some of the colours are a little too strong (especially on the nose). The mouth area looks perfect, but I think the inside of the ears need a bit of reshaping - check your own ears to see what I mean. On the whole though, an excellent first post. Keep it up!

Yes I agree with those points - I do tend to oversaturate my textures - thanks for the positve feedback - I will continue with this and add some more detail to the ear and look more closely at the skin tones - thanks!

Here is the un-textured version - I used the antropus (genius) skin alphas for the majority of the detail so far and the sokar skin material - which give a wonderful soft look to the skin - will displace and sss in maya at some point - oh yes and he needs some eyes too .
Havnt worked out if you can display mutiple objects with different materials while in edit mode is this possible? any help would be appreciated .
Really good detailing, you can display lots objects at once with different materials but they are dropped to 2.5D so cannot be edited further in true 3D, only the last object stays in edit mode…
This will still be good for material testing though…
Thanks Buckie, will try that out.
toned down the base texture - maybe a bit too much - see what you guys think.
