First Post......Nosferatu

Well, this is my first post on ZBrushCentral and I’m a little nervous! lol (Having followed this forum for a while and being very aware of the calibre of it’s members!)

I made this chappy (brief was for a Nosferatu style vampire) for a film project at work. In the past I haven’t had the time to turn my work into a more finished piece of 2d art. I normally build, texture (sometimes rig) and then move on. so this is my first attempt at a standalone piece in a long while.

Tech wise, base mesh (very basic) was created in Max, then into ZBrush for main modelling and detailing and textures, then back into Max as mesh with displacement maps. (The background was just done in Max.) Rendered using Mental ray with some Photoshop tweaking. (The background was just done in Max.)

So, I look forward to hearing what ya reckon.

Its pretty cool. But looks a little plain, a bit to “naked” is what a mean.

But otherwise its probably better then i could do lol. :+1:

Looks like he’s got his nails nice and sharp there.
Only suggestions, the lighting I think if you went a little darker it would help. In the Dramatic department at least.
Nosferatu looks like he’s been catching some mega waves the tan is wicked good.
Perhaps desaturating it a bit will help.
Good work. :+1:

Nice! Just try one thing… either increae the texture resulution of the model or lower the texture resolution of the background. If the background is a photo try noise or stretch it a bit. That would integrate your character bettter. If it’s a wip… then never mind!

man, juns a word:coooooooooooooool
i would give you some stars, i have no idea how- what a shame :frowning:

Been looking at this at work  and I really like it. The texturing is really good and the eyes of the creature are excellent - cold and reptilian rather than human/demonic as is often the case with these sorts of creatures. I like the background - it contrasts nicely with the creature itself - it gives the image as almost frightening juxtaposition - the real world background and then the creature. I like the feeling of it “just being there” as if you walked around a corner and…there it was. Pretty scary when you think of it like that. As for the “bareness” of the creature - it works for me - as I said it creates a real sense of other-world colliding with our own reality.
A big thumbs up from me. Looking forward to your Frankenstein too…

Thanks for the feedback all.

I’ve done some reworking based on the feedback.
