first post and first zbrush sculpt!

Watch_time_slipaway.jpg

I am learning zbrush as I go with this sculpt. I started with zspheres and then used the shadow box on the watch. I am still working on the hard surface modeling technique. And I have not got into texturing yet. Oh and not sure if it cool to brand images?
comments are welcome!!

What in Hell’s name is that?

i dont know what goes on inside your head but im glad you’ve found a way to excersize it  hope you keep at it. I can see you’re aiming for a really original style, so ignore this if it doesnt suit you, but I think the topology could be a bit sharper (…from my own really limited experience…). eg, near the bottom right attachment for the watch strap there are these little bobbles that show up, and the watch strap is sort of uneven. I get that you’re just starting out with Zbrush, but once you have the basics down i’d suggest looking into how to re-topologise those high-poly sculptures to get the best out of Zbrush. Like I say, I’m still learning zbrush - but I had a 2001 moment when I started building my base meshes in studio max (i think you can use almost any 3D program) then importing them to Zbrush and sculpting the details over the top.

I am working on advancing my skills and I needed a project to do so. this was a surreal painting I had done some 18 yrs ago when painting was my only form of expression. We live in an amazing time!! There are many meanings hidden in this piece all are probably very dark and twisted. I was in a dark place at that time when I painted the original piece. It was fun to revisit and create a 3d version. I have been meaning to do it for 10 yrs every since I started using 3d studio max.
I agree it needs work to make it a polished piece of work hopefully in the near future as my skills with zbrush improve.

any suggestions?

I would choose a different material, and some direction Haha
