Hey guys - been wracking my head all week trying to figure out which way to head with my career - maybe someone whose gone through a similar things can help shed some light.
I work in the game/vfx industry – mostly as a modeller and texture artist. Ive a partially completed electrical engineering degree (2 years in i dropped out due to personal reasons and ended up in the film industry), and a masters in digital media. Was wondering whether going back to uni and doing a software engineering degree or a fine art degree would benefit me the most in this field in the future? - would engineering mean better hours/pay/job security than a person working as a modeller or concept artist? - is it easier finding jobs in a mroe technical capacity within this industry? Or does it all kinda level out once a person becomes a lead and takes on a more managerial position later on???
help me out man…
