Final Fantasy

Just bought myself the DVD of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within for my birthday. O :ex: M :ex: G :ex: as in Oh :ex: My :ex: freakin’ Goodness! :ex: This was amazing. I’m sure most of you have already seen it, but I’m a little behind the times. Just thought I would share my enthusiasm with others who can appreciate the brilliance of this work. (My family doesn’t share my love of CG). Anyway, night-night, all. Zalk to you zomorrow.

Happy Birthday Slosh
Well Final Fantasy is a awesome movie and I have watched it like 10 times :D. It’s my favourite movie too…
Glad U bought the DVD, it’s worth having.

It is sad that SquareSoft has gone bankrupt….I was expecting more movies like that from them.

happy b-day buddy. that was akiller movie wasnt it. very talented group of peeps did that one.

I liked that movie a lot too , although I thought the movie was a little too dark , darkness can cover up faults and stuff. But it was a very nice CG movie
I liked Shrek too :stuck_out_tongue:

Well not being a FF fan i can agree that the renderings in the movie are astonishing - most of the time.
But the story of the movie was too flat for me. One could say it was ridiculous and the character developement was kinda … not there. But after all i just watched it to see state of the art renderings by pros.

just my 0.02$

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I own the DVD too Slosh! I’ve gone through every inch of the add on stuff and watched it studied it and disected that thing to no end. It’s GREAT I agree.

Sad they went bankrupt. All that hardware/software/communication equipment on the block.

The Spirit creatures were SO FREAKEN COOL! :sunglasses: :+1:

I have the DVD too and it is one of my favorite movies! BANKRUPT!? Why am I always the last to find out? Does that include the software division? You know the makers of Final Fantasy the video games? If so what is going to happen to them? I have followed those games since the old Nintendo days!

SquareSoft has closed down only their Movie division which was based in Hawaii but their software division which is SquareSoft Crop Japan will continue with the Final Fantasy Game

Actually I believe it’s just the animation company in hawaii. The gaming side took a financial hit due to bankrolling this thing, but were able to stay alive. (According to the trade rag I read).

The animation company spent something like 3million on Maya licenses alone. Crazy huh?

The game is safe. But a sequal to FFTSW is unlikely.

Happy birthday to you Slosh! =)) best wishes man!

kisss

SquareSoft is probably the only one capable of producing decent RPG games. It’s really depressing to watch all the big (good) companies going bankrupt or being sold to others.

Whew!!! Yeah I had heard they really went overboard and way in the hole making the movie…just to prove it could be done. Cause it sure didn’t make much money. Glad to hear the game side is still operating!

I have to agree about the storyline, Nemo. It was very flat, and actually a bit boring, but I too bought it just for the CG effects. I haven’t had time to go through the second disc yet, but I’m fixin’ to do that any minute now.

I never even heard of FF (didn’t know about the game or anything) until I saw an article in Discover magazine. I was flabbergasted at the image of Dr. Sid and so I watched the trailer on the internet. After that, I had to have the movie. $12 bucks pre-viewed at BlockBuster. Not bad.

PS: Didn’t realize I mentioned my birthday, but thanks to all for noticing.
