Hello everybody, I am using fibermesh to create hair braids, its going pretty well, almost done, but I have some single stranded hair lines scattered all over the place, what would be the best method of pushing those loosened hair strands back into the main hairclump WITHOUT deforming most of the braids ive created ? none of the groom brushes seem to be doing any decent, nor does smoothing as its difficult to target those single strands.
Have you tried isolating those problematic stands with the ‘lasso selection’ ?
If not, here’s the best way to get at them, switch from default square selection to lasso selection.
Hold (ctrl + shift + alt) so your selection is red, and hide small sections of the tops of those strands you want isolated.
After doing that, hold Ctrl + Shift, and press ‘S’ repeatedly until the remainder of those particular strands have disappeared.
Then invert your visible selection, (ctrl + shift + swipe down on canvas)
You should have just the stands on screen which have been causing you problems.
Ctrl + click on screen to mask these, and crtl + shift + click to bring back all the other strands, and ctrl + click to invert your mask, so you can now work on just those strands.
It might help to hide your mask, shortcut is ctrl + ‘H’, just remember to enable your mask again afterwards, ctrl + ‘H’ again to show masked areas.
Hope that helps, if it’s a bit confusing, let me know, I’ll make a diagram of what I mean.
Cheers :]
