Fibermesh painting

I have created a Fibermesh but didn’t paint it before it was created. So I went to Polypaint and pressed Polypaint from Polygroups button - just to see what it does. The fibermesh changed colors but I thought they were not the colors that I wanted so I tried repainting it manually. However, it doesn’t seem to be working - the colors remain what they are. It can be a display issue but I’m not sure. I’ve also checked that there was no masking applied.

I know that it’s not how I’m supposed to be doing it - I guess I needed to paint the underlying geometry first or set the color when creating the fibermesh, but then I believe it says in the docs that one can still paint a fibermesh after it’s been created.

Sorry if this is confusing, I’m very new to ZBrush.

Many thanks.

It depends if the fibermesh you used already has a default texture applied (some do and some don’t), you might need to turn that off first. Otherwise, just using the normal paint tools and fill object option should give a good result when you render.

Yes, there was a texture map there and I got rid of it. I guess it’s OK now. Thanks!
