Fiber Mesh is crashing ZBrush constantly.

Hi,

I have a pretty good mid range rig. NEVER EVER had this issue but I swear just trying to work with the Fiber mesh this morning I had upwards of over 10 crashes just trying to style Fibermesh hair (a beard I was trying to style using the move and move elastic brushes (which I find kinder than those crazy style brushes that Pixo provides). As stated never had an issue with this before today but I’m at my wits end. My drivers are up to date, my rig checks out to be healthy so not sure if it’s a bug or an update that was applied that is buggy. I just updated ZBrush using the updater and still getting this. Not sure what else to try! :confused:small_orange_diamond:cry:small_orange_diamond:confused:

OK, no help yet but wondering. Is there a way to increase the amount of RAM that is allocated to ZBrush per session and if so where do I go to increase this? I run Windows 10 Pro so if within Windows let me know or if these controls are within ZBrush please instruct.

Thank you!

Richard

Took the time to deactivate and uninstalled ZBrush! Rebooted, reinstalled, reactivated still getting the crash when trying to style fibermesh hair in ZBrush!!

If it keeps coming back after re-installing, then the problem might be in your save data folder (C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\ZBrushData 2018)

Save any custom ui, UI color or hotkey files you might have in there then delete the contents of that folder. ZBrush will rebuild it at next start.

Tried that as well following the advice I found in a YouTube video!

Any luck with the video Wolf? Could you share the link please? I would be interested to know if your problem has been resolved.
