Female anatomy study (nudity)

This is a young athletic female named Brianna. I did this to learn female anatomy, skin shading, displacement workflow and mental ray lighting. Comments and feedback appreciated.

wow, stunning work. Anatomy and skin shader is top notch. Very well done. Would love to see a breakdown.

She reminds me a little bit of Christina Applegate too.

Thumbs up :+1:

Hi!

You used photos for texturing her right? The lighting and the texture hides a lot of the forms, so could you post a clay render please?

She has fake boobs… I feel sorry for her. :frowning:
Too much specular on the lips.

Thanks for the comments

nfuchs, Photo ref was used for the lips, eybrows, feet and hands. The rest is procedural. I lifted the breasts a bit because I plan on building a corset (that would give support to them) later on. Here’s a cropped version of the render and some screen grabs from ZB. The screen grabs are from an earlier version (in progress). I’ll try to do some screen grabs of the latest version tonight or tomorrow.

I can tell you’ve really put your heart into this study! Having a pretty subject never hurts;) . The thing that caught my eye immediately was the hair. I don’t believe I’ve seen this type of cut modeled before, and you’ve done a great job. The stray hairs are perfect. My only suggestion would be to up the strand thickness on the long hair, it looks to me a little too soft. You’ve done a good job on the skin. So march on and keep up the good work!

very nice i like it a lot!

you seem to have to much surface scatering on the fingers though, you might need to map a texture to your back sss to fix that

I always wanted to say how I like your work, that is on turbosquid.

If you dont mind me asking , does that portal really help, financially ?
can it replace a day job ? or is it just side-income for you ?

I would really love to know how many models do you sell a month ?

I am asking these because I ve planning to join some time. I just dont know where to start. dive straightly into characters? props?

It is rely good work I find some problems with the face and body texture they don’t match up head is lighter than the skin from the body.

As for modeling it looks pretty good I would change out of personal taste to slim her jaw up some I find wide jaws to be manly but this is a person taste of mine.

GJ keep pumping them out.

hyper1, Good comment. I appreciate your feedback. The hair is definitely an area I want to improve.

karlous, Noted, great comment. Thank you for your keen eye.

mavinova, No, I don’t think I’ll be able to quit my day job any time soon. I make enough money on TS to go to Starbucks once in a while. I post personal work up there hoping that eventually I’ll earn enough money to upgrade my ancient computer and/or pay for software upgrades. I’m still on Max 2009 at home cause I can’t afford the subscription.

Converse, Yes, I lightened up the face when I did the makeup pass (foundation). I have some great books on the subject (well, my wife does, she let me borrow them). Made her look 5 years younger. As for the jaw, I agree, it’s a matter of taste. I actually did a search for the 5 most beautiful women and it turns out that most of the results I got had a more angular jaw line. I’m sure that changes from year to year.

Thanks again for the keen, observant and specific comments everyone!!

Here is the most recent Zbrush tool screen grabs.

nice work for a study , you might think again about the width of the lower jaw since usually it should be smaller than the cheek bone and in your case its almost the same width as the cheek bone but still what you’ve done is amazing

I see. Now that the texture isn’t hiding the actual model I have to say that it’s good for a start but you have a long way ahead of you. There are a lot of anatomy mistakes on this sculpt but I’m sure you’ll get those right in time…just practice, practice…practice!
(the same goes for me aswell)

ryu2020, Thanks

nfuchs, Perhaps you could enlighten me with more specific comments or a paint over. I would be very much obliged.

Thanks again for the comments.

I think every area needs more work. Face, shoulders, ribcage…legs… I suggest you get some nice reference photos and study how the masses are ‘flowing’ into each other.

Also try to give her a more natural pose next time. I know that it’s T pose but it still can be more relaxed and have more weight.
Keep it up!
