ZBrushCentral

feel a bit riped off

there is no doubt Zbrush is a grate program, but I have to say Z-bush core is not, its bear its got nothing in it worth the $200AUD it commands, I am no professional artist or anything think like that, but is not hard to see that the programs has no value in it at all,

they really need to add something into it, I understand that its the “core” version and features will be removed and I did my research on it and did think that I could work with what Zbrushcore has to give me, as I have already said it bear, too bear.

  • working with the “20mill limit” yeah its 20 mill but most of the time its more like 5 to 10mill as once it his anywhere near this no more, if I had a large object then that’s maybe 2 subs max

  • there might as well be no optimize tool at all, I cant change the amount it optimizes anyway , trying to Lug around 10Mil - 20mill (or less) poly model is hard work and slows down some programs, I will end up doing the re topology somewhere ells or at least making it more useable for me, witch is just less time I am going to spend in Zbrushcore and in some other program, and giving other program more reason an to buy that one as well. I guess look at it like this, the more time people spend in Zbush core doing things the more likely they are of buying the full package, the more time they spend doing things in Zbrush’s competitors the more likely they are of spending there money somewhere ells, never upgrading Zbushcore to newer versions or the full package’s.

  • taking the re-topology and capping the amount of polys is like cutting the upper arms and lower legs of a person, what’s left is not much and hard function with, much like this, you cant crate high quality models nor can you crate grate low poly models for game engines with in Zbushcore, making other programs more appalling to use, making a new user feel like they can crate grate looking things inside of Zbushcore is a must, really think that this is why I feel ripped off, I feel like I cant do anything with the end product or as much as I want to do with it,

  • the amount of brushes isn’t a biggy for me but for the price and the lack of every thing ells I think way more is needed

anyway I am going to try it out of a week more, but if I still have the same view as I have not I will ask for a refund, it’s just to for me. their are plenty of other programs that can do what Zbrushcore can do if not more, at the moment I cant see the difference between Sculpris and Zbrushcore apart from the UI and blenders sculpting the 2 are also free

There’s no need to feel ripped off because with Pixologic’s refund policy you can get your money back* within 30 days if you decide the program is not for you (*less a small administrative charge). But you might also bear in mind that owning ZBrushCore will give you $100 off ZBrush should you decide to upgrade at a later date.

Rookie. I got a Wacom tablet and the zbrush core software for closer to $230. Such better value imo. Coming from blenders sculpting, it is a big improvement. I don’t know if I would of been happier using that money as a down payment on a 3d printer but it is what it is and I’m enjoying the software.

Dazza, you also have to bear in mind that the lag issues you’re facing may be due to your PC setup, I also have this type of issues but I have in consideration that I have not the best CPU processor and that my RAM should be improved for that.
