Feature Animation

Okay, let’s say that we are going to create a feature-length animation movie.
Okay, so we won’t a feature-length animation film so how do we approach the pixel file size to be used for its creation. Bearing in mind, that we do not won’t to forget that it might be released for viewing on the silver screen.

After viewing many feature-length animation films I noticed that the more modern versions are created in a 1.85:1 ratio.

So, let's say that is the ratio plan on using to create the feature-length animated film – 1.85:1 ratio. I think we need to convert that ratio into some working form of pixels. After much research and googling I found this information (but I think it came from a wiki so I'm not sure if it's trusted information and because of that I would like to find a trusted source for the information) – but using this information found on the internet it says on the 1.85:1 ratio several things, one, digital cinema 2K which is 1998 X 1080 resolution. 2- Digital Cinema 4K which is 3996 X 2160 resolution. Okay, it looks like we only have two options for making a feature length film with the option for it to be displayed on the silver screen.

Of these two options which is the best option for production of the animated movie the 2K or the 4K resolution.

Since that is the only two options I can find and it comes from a wiki I am not sure how accurate it is.

If these two are correct but there are other possibilities for the 1.85:1 ratio for a feature-length animated film with the possibility of the silver screen release what would they be?

I did read somewhere that there was no need for the 4K resolution being that it was our work and the 2K resolution would work just as good. I do not remember the links I cannot post it and there again it might have been from a wiki so therefore I cannot trust it. If you have information on whether a 4K or 2K resolution is in preference over the other please let me know.
