Facial Rigging of ZBrush characters

what is the most common workflow people are using to facial rig ZBrush characters?
Is it pretty much through Maya? I wish i could render a few seconds clips of characters lip syncing
to vocals. Rango is amazing in this area for detail. Do you have any recommendations? What would
be the easiest solution? Would Mixamo face software be able to handle a retopo mesh? I haven’t seen
anything on their site except more gametype characters (less details). Thanks.

Blender has outstanding rigging that works with very high density mesh…
Look at it this way:
I hate Blender and I just said that.
It works GREAT and I suck at rigging.

Blender is also free which is helpful.

The only thing i am concerned about is the quality of the output. This would
be the ideal, although, i don’t know if it can be possible within my budget.

And yes, if you learn how, blender can do both, I know the first one was Blender, but its also capable of what’s in the second one. Im not kidding, I know this for a fact.
Blender is a very serious program, to me its no fun, but I know what its capable of and what I would be capable of if I had more time to learn it.
I learned the basics of rigging in Blender in less than an hour.

That photo-real head animation is made by a group who makes a plug-in for Maya. So, thats one route.
Do you have any or have seen alot of examples of these types of characters with Blender face-rigged? My only concern is going down a path and then eventually finding later on down the line, it can’t really produce the desired quality result. I have a ways to get there but just trying to look into it earlier on. Thanks. :slight_smile:

Michalis (on this site) would be a better person to ask for that, he knows a LOT about Blender.
I could spend a lot of time digging and not come up with what you are after…
But I know it’s doable though I don’t have the ability to sculpt, texture or rig like that, or even close.
