Extract Sphere Texture From MatCap?

Is there a way to extract the texture (two spheres) from an existing Matcap material? I’ve found how to IMPORT a new texture as the Matcap bitmap, but have some old ones I’d like to alter.

Cool trick! It would still be nice to have a way to simply export the existing texture map (two spheres) directly from the MatCap shader. If anyone knows a way please chime in.
