Exporting textures

How do you export materials or textures created in ZBrush? I wish to try some as textures in Bryce and also to use in Infinity Textures to make them seamless images. Infinity textures needs them as an image file.

Hi Wblyheaded. To export textures, go to Textures :small_orange_diamond:Inventory, and press “Export”. It will display a standard Save box allowing you to save as PSD, or BMP, and I think Mac users can save PICT files or something like that? (This requires the Full Version.)

Materials cannot be exported to different programs, because each program has its own way of defining materials. However, you could fake the material by applying it to the background and saving it as a texture.

i never used any other 3d-app than z but poser for a few times: so no expert speaking here.

my guess is that other apps dont support .zmt (materials)files as per now. their lack, methinks.

as for textures: the mrgbz-grab-tool will create textures the size of your canvas which are exportable either as .psd or .bmp files. check out its modifiers. i have no idea if these formats are supported by the apps of your choice, but i bet they do

To save your material values. Paint a canvas full to your likeing with the texture. Render.

Export the document as a .psd.

You can tile it of course and have a seamless or use it as a nozel value in PSP.

There’s many different ways to apply that document.
