exporting sharp edges .fbx

When I export an object from zbrush to .fbx, it exports with sharp edges, I uncheck the SNormals “Smooth Normals” button in the fbx export options, but it stills mark edges sharp.

How can I avoid zbrush create automatically sharp edges? If I use the zmodeler I cant see any sharp edge marked, so why zbrush does it when exporting to .fbx?

OMG exporting objects from zbrush is a nightmare, it changes the size, the world position, now it makes sharp edges without doing it…

When exporting as FBX from ZBrush the SNormals option should be turned on if you want your model to have a smoothed appearance. The SNormals option means that averaged Vertex Normals are calculated for the mesh. When the SNormals option is off then Face Normals are used which will give a hard edge to all polygons.

The result you see will depend on the program you are importing into, and what import options you select. If you see the same result whether SNormals is on or off then the program you are importing into is ignoring the normals.

True, thanks marcus, the thing was I had this kind of problems when importing this object with smooth normals from zbrush to blender, when I make it flat again, it looks like this:

so I see forced to export from zbrush without smooth normals, and then assign the smooth groups in blender.

I’ts so strange, because I’m not able to fix the smoothing in the object even in Blender, I tried to make flat and smooth vertices, edges, faces, recalculating normals, and nothing seems to fix the problem.

but dont worry, I export as flat and then delete the sharp edges.
