exporting .objs - scale & pivot point management

Hi there!

After a recent big fail, I’m trying to understand scale & pivot point management within Zbrush better.

My workflow:

  1. I export an .obj from 3Dcoat that consists of multiple sub-objects. These objects all have a transform of 0,0,0
  2. If I open these up in Blender, the objects are maintaining these transforms
  3. I import this .obj to Zbrush (TEST - if I export it immediately from Zbrush and examine in Blender it maintains transforms)
  4. I run scale master to set the correct scene scale (TEST - if I export it immediately after this point it maintains transforms)
  5. however, when I split the subtool into separate parts (to get access to my sub-objects as sub-tools to do more fine work on in Zbrush) and then export it using the 3D print hub, both the scale and the pivot points of all objects have been changed which is a pain :frowning:.

I’ve noticed that if I export all objects using scale master plugin, I can maintain their scale and pivot but then I end up with separate .obj files, whereby I am wanting a single .obj file with subobjects.

Is there a way to export multiple subtools as a single .obj file, whilst maintaining their transforms and pivots?

Any advice on your workflows appreciated!
