After applying UV coordinates (working on clone, unwrapping, and copy/pasting using UV Master) to my model I import both high and low poly objects into xNormal and the mapping seems to go accordingly until a popup (see attached) appears describing an error, which reads: ios_basefailbit set: iostream stream error. I have no idea what this means nor what possibly I may have done prior to importing the high and low poly mesh into xNormal. Any advice or suggestions would be most appreciated.
I would use an external app to do the uvs on the lower poly because uvmaster is intended as a quick uv solution only. Even further I use 3dmax for my uvs and xnormal has installed a mesh export option specifically for that.
UV master is a valid way to create UVs for organic shapes, even if you want ultimate and detailed control other packages can be better.
I don’t think UV master should give you any limitation when exporting it to other programs. Xnormal can be quirky and I use other alternatives. I guess only an expert in Xnormal could respond about this problem but I don’t think using UV master is a limitation.
