How do I export as an obj, as one piece when there are sub tools?
This is for 3d printing.
wanting to know how to export model with multiple sub tools a single obj file instead of having to export separate sub tool at a time.
If the subtools have levels of subdivision, make sure they are set to the desired level for export, then use one of the merge operations in the Tool > Subtool> Merge palette–for instance, Merge Visible. This will create a duplicate tool in the tool palette that is a merged version of the tool containing all the visible subtools, that can then be exported in a single file.
Unless I have misunderstood, and you actually want to export the tool with all the subtools as a single unified continuous mesh. This is slightly more complicated.
All as one, but with all.
what I need is, all of the sub tools to go as one with the main tool.
But to be able to show up as a single import(upload) for a 3d print.
what I have happening right now is when I export what shows up in the 3d slicer software is only the main tool, and nothing else.
So I’m assuming that the only thing being exported is the main tool because that’s what’s selected at the time.
I guess a better question to ask is how do I export the main tool and all the sub tools as one .obj
