Export .mov file ???

I’m hoping that there is a way to export a .mov file from the movie export area within Zbrush?

I read that they took it out in 4r7…and am hoping this is not true…though there is no sign of it in 4r8. Why get rid of this option and replace it with only mpeg export?? I found the script to export .png and tiff here: (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?194678-Frame-Sequence-Exporter), however…this is very slow compared to the original zbrush .mov export. Any other options here???

Thanks guys!

I just use media encoder to reformat the .mpg to whatever I want after it exports from zbrush. Mpg is little annoying because it doesn’t play in everything. But its no big deal really, I’d probably end up re encoding them anyway if I wanted to post them, store them or use them in a sequence. Probably not much help, sorry.

Thanks Jack,

But…the problem is the quality, right? Mpg compresses the heck out of it, and it looks so tortured…even with the “HighQuality” button pushed.

I haven’t had a problem with quality. I mostly just do turntables grey shaded or wire frame, so perhaps you’re doing something more fancy, but they always come out with clean lines and play smoother once I put them in a .mp4. I have H on for high quality like you said (though I don’t think it does much), and also have Large on so the movie is 100% size/quality. You’re right though, mpg is pretty rubbish and an odd format for them to choose.
