Expert artist's guidance needed!

Okay, I was helped a lot in my previous thread, http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=32412. I’m extremely interested in becoming a computer animator or visual effects supervisor. I’m interested in attending the Gnomon school of visual effects. The users who replied to my previous thread suggested that I take some art classes at the university I’m in now. It was recommended that I take drawing, painting, and even sculpting classes. I realized that they were right, and came up with this list of classes that I was somehow able to work in to my all ready hectic degree plan:
- Art structures: Disciplines in art, with practice in various media
- 3D design: Fundamentals of 3D design; studio experiences in various
media
- Basic design: Design as a basic problem-solving creative activity;
project dealing with mechanical and communicative ability
- Beginning sculpting: Studies in sculpture using appropriate materials and processes
- Drawing and composition I: Basic principles of observation; emphasis
on graphical analysis and delineation of spatial structure
- Drawing and composition II: Studies from the live model; introduction
of graphical representation, structure, and form
- Introduction to painting: Basic studio practice and theory in painting;
traditional and modern materials and terminology; value and color
experiences involving simple forms in space
- Digital art I: Introduction to digital applications in art
- Intermediate drawing and composition: Imaginitive composition
utilizing the figure, still-life, and landscape forms
- Painting I: Studio problems in still-life directed toward conceptual
attitudes; analysis of structure and color in composition; individual
criticism, class discussion
- Painting II: Studio approaches to abstraction; thematic problems
based on the figure and nature forms, synthesizing form and
experience; individual criticism, class discussion

If you guys have any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. I have to keep the amount of art classes I take to a minimum right now because my college graduation (in electrical engineering) is not far away, and I don’t have many spots to fit extra classes in. However, if you think of any art courses that are absolutely essential to computer animation or just ones that would be a better fit than the ones I chose, please tell me about them. Also, I’m kinda interested in possibly getting an MFA in studio art just to really get down the art thing before I go into computer animation. Do you guys think that the list of classes I have would prepare me for that type of schooling. If you reply, please separate the classes into which would be useful for computer animation and which would be useful for the MFA, if you know of any. Of course, mention of any art courses that are just good in general will be appreciated too.
