My 2nd post here!
I use monster sculpts to do rendering / workflow experiments. This one was all about SSS with transparency where SSS mesh was visible through it. I used Bernhard van der Horst’s IMMs as a base and mixed in some various animal parts to put it all together. The frills on the back and the skin mask, with the meat underneath, were the main focus of my testing.

I found that removing the frills and the skin mask, with a frontal shot, resulted in something pretty creepy. At that point, I chose to push the materials a bit more and spend the time lighting and rendering.
