evil and other armor characters

Hi everyone,

He is a evil character i created for game, had learn alot of different methods to sculpt hard surface and armor stuff during this project. i 've recorded some progess timelapse movies for this project.( about 25 mins) will share to the good people here, hope will make some of you who learning Zbrush’s life easier…hehe., i 've learn so much from alots of great artist in this forum, hope i can contribute back alittle.

Nice presentation too. How did you project those rings into the side of his helmet? I don’t understand that step even though I saw you do it in the video.

Wow nice work… i would have liked to see it a bit slower and with some vocals
but i guess it would have been too long.
Really like the character and the armor is just kool looking.

MouthforWar: Hi thanks you like it, those rings , i 1st create some simple model using the zbrush mesh and play with masking and deformation, and i just grap it as an aphla, and adjust the contrast of the aphla setting… thats it.

karysino: hmm… i use projection master instead of just drag stroke with the aphla patterns… they will look sharper and neat.

demise: thanks for ur comment. yah ,i think will be too long and broing to watch, and too big the file size too. the video is just record the ideas of how will i dealing with different types of surface. is showing more about how i will use mask and aphla to form the details i want. the method and commands i use is just normal sculpting method.

thnkx … really impressiv one… think u hav more patience to work such minute details in over all model…

Wow thats amazing!!! I lve the last creature you did, it looks awesome. How did you texture the gu was it all polypaint, or a mixture of poly paint and photoshop, Thanks for posting the videos, there kick ass!!

cashfire vbmenu_register(“postmenu_466527”, true); - for human characters, usually i do the head texture in zbrush, the bodys will use zmapper for normal maps , and bring them to photoshop do the colour maps… sometimes will bring them back to zbrush touch up with polypaint…

for creatures character usually will work the whole colour map in zbrush , and touch up in photoshop.

Giantsun - thanks, the helmet is on his subdiv 7, not sure how many polygon, but i will sculpt everything except the fine details in lower subdiv level… level 7 will be all the fine details which i will do it in projection master.
