Everytime I start Zbrush 2018 I get an "unable to save file" error message

I was unable to work my screen capture while the error message was onscreen, so I had to transcribe it:
UNABLE TO SAVE FILE
C:\PROGRAM FILES\PIXOLOGIC\ZBRUSH 2018/Zstartup\Zplugs64\plugin folder/ZbrushData/ZpluginData/SculpteoData/folder

As weird as this looks with both back and forward slashes and seemingly random capitalizations, this is an accurate transcription. Zbrush starts and runs after this message (I’m running Win7Pro) but it’s still worrisome.

I copied everything over from Zr8 that didn’t replicate anything in 2018, and still haven’t deleted Zr8 in case…well, just in case, I guess. Did I copy over something unnecessary?

The Sculpteo plugin has been discontinued. You should take it out of the ZBrush 2018\ZStartup\ZPlugs64 folder.

As a general rule, you shouldn’t copy over stuff from one version of ZBrush to another as you’re likely to get conflicts like this.

Thank you for the info! What else should I do about the hundreds of brushes, alphas, plugins and textures that I’ll likely never use but have somehow managed to acquire over the past 18 months? A couple more years and it will be a real problem, almost as bad as fonts…

Alphas, textures and most brushes are okay to bring over as far as I know. Plugins are where caution is needed.
