Error Loading tool

Hi all.

I have encountered an issue in Zbrush and this has happened a few times before, I’ve has enough and I’m wondering if maybe I am doing something wrong.

Here is the scenario, I spend hours working on brush file, sculpting away, happy as a clam, I save the file go to bed, and return the next day for more Zbrush fun.

I open the file only to be met with an error message saying ‘There was an error loading the tool, process has been aborted’. I am quite diligent with backing up my files and saving work as OBJ’s etc, because I just can’t rely on Zbrush anymore. However I have lost a lot of progress from seemingly corrupted files, and I wonder if anyone else has any insight into what causes this, and is there a resolution.

When that happens, are my files lost for good, or is there a way to get stuff back.

I really am so frustrated right now, If you’ve ever been in this situation, you know my pain.

Are you double clicking on the file in the OS or opening it through Zbrush?

Also can you post a screenshot and or provide the Zbrush version you’re using?

Thanks for responding.

I am using Zbrush 4R7, and I am not opening the file from within the OS, (that in itself has issues most times)

I open the file within Zbrush, and here is a screenshot of the message i get.

this has happened another two times since I last posted this message, I hav saved some of the tools individually, but i ust want to know some best practices to avoid this.

I am on a mac, 8gb ram, 2ghz intel core i5 processor, running Yosemite, if anyone wanted to know that.
