Error code -32

Hello all,

can someone help me out? im trying to use a rig i built in 3ds max which i then used to pose my model. After exporting the model into my tposed mesh it works fine but as soonj as i hit the pose to subtools button i get this error code. I believe it has something to do with my mesh not beeing optimized correctly? can this be? Please if someone can help me out i would greatly appreciate it.

here is the breakdown again:

  1. tpose all subtools ( i made sure all of them had names and subdivisions and also the layer button was turned on)
  2. imported my posed model obj. (worked out fine)
  3. once i press the button next to tpose to get back to my detailed model with subdivs i get exactly this error.

Please its driving me mad really help.

just wanted to add that i tried zremesher so i get clean quads and zprojected back my subdivs but still the same bug persist. Geez this is driving me crazy.

thanks
Chris

The points must have changed in some way. You won’t necessarily notice this when importing the file from Max because when there are no subdivision levels ZBrush simply replaces the mesh. But the error code indicates that the data ended sooner than expected.

If you want to upload to Dropbox or somewhere the ZBrush project file (ZPR) and the OBJ from Max then I’ll take a look for you.

hey thanks for the reply. i wish i could upload it but its for a client so i am not allowed to show the model, atleast for now. I wonder what i can do to fix this because i also tried exporting that same tpose mesh and rerigged it to make sure i am replacing it on the same topo. The only thing that changed is the pose. Now that you say this i believe it has to do with the rig itself because the posed model (only the body, not the subtools is giving me this problem and exactly the body had weird bendings in the upper leg area so if this error code indicates topology problem then ill try making a new clean base mesh which i then use to rig again and maybe that will help.) Thanks for the reply and i will try it out and see if that works. Keep you udpated.

cheers
Chris

Transpose Master works by splitting up the combined mesh into the original subtools. When it makes the combined mesh it keeps a list of the vertex numbers for all the subtools. It uses this when splitting the mesh. Any variation from the list will give an error. Although posing the combined mesh in another program should work OK, if the vertex order or number is changed then there will be problems.

once again thanks marcus,

i believe this is the issue. Thanks for the clarification on transpose master. i will check it out this eve at home.

happy new year btw

chris

Happy new year to you too!

hey marcus, sry for late response. I solved this issue by looking at the main body and there were some unused polygons i retopo it and retried again and it worked flawless.

thanks again.

No problem, glad you solved it.

Cheers,
