Equestrian Portrait of Louis XIV - Giovanni Bernin

Hi all, Finaly i finished new render of this model. I used Vray with max for rendering and zbrush for modeling and ph for textures. Materials for textures i used from cgtextures.com
Model i did for company who helped in financing reconstruction of the statue. This render i did for my portfolio. I have admite - it was the very dificult model…

This is the copy of great statue Equestrian Portrait of Louis XIV - oryginally perfected sculpted by Giovanni Bernini for Wersal…baroque style --Ofc zbrush 3.1 was necacary
Thanks to my friends: Pawel Szenszol and Marcin Solarz who help me with hardware support  and to Pawel Hynek for vray consults and Jerome Lebrun for task! Few screens from ZB:

Amazingly beautiful! What a statue! :+1: :+1:

wow!!!

great image!

really like how you handled the horse’s maine!
Really nice job on the render as well… the only thing that’s bugging me a bit are the hands of the King - they seem very underdefined in the finger joints - seem just quickly bent and not sculpted but that’s nitpicking  - 5 starsies for an excellent choice of topic

Beautiful sculpting of the statue! Very close to the original!

Fantastic work!
Great organic flows throughout (mane, rider’s hair and garment).

Beautiful work. Love the waves in the hair and the folds in the cloth especially.

great sculpt,i like the hair design. :+1:

wow this is stunning, its great to see zbrush used in such a manner, you could theroeticly keep a copy of a scultpure for ages to be remembered, not just a picture of one but an 3d digital copy that is in a sense immune to outside forces pleuging such said original. kudos to you this should be top row absolutly.

Staszek,

Shows a ton of skill and hard work to be able to capture and preserve likeness of a original as you have done. Truly inspiring, I can’t wait to see more of your creations with such attention to detail.

Wow! Great model and wonderful render! :+1: :+1:

…what…on…earth… this is amazing:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

model is far from perfect oryginal - but it was hard anyway - i did it from pictures-not professionally prepared and comparing from many views was almost insane
in this render i couldnt use all quality of details what i did in zbrush. I was render it in regions(at 2 times every - one with’ do not render final image’ and i turn on ‘bitmap pager’ - and it was taking lot of time anyway…) i rendered details from vraydisplace seted on 4px! the good result could be on 1px or less… my comp could handle that…

propotions are not ‘real anathomy’ the artist Bernin who did the satue had to cheange propotions. Statue is big and point of view is from buttom. Thats why some of elements of the body and horse are diferent than in real life.I probably didnt cacht them all well but for first look its very slimar:)

The volume light for someone could be to hard and it is for sure!- …i cant render better for now im still learnig.but i did it spacialy in some way. The Louis 14 was called ‘Sun King’ and i like the darkness - how to compound it well ?

wow … really amazing work :+1: … well deserved 5 stars

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: wow!
very good work

wonderful. really like it buddy.

Fantastic~!

Fabulous man:+1: :+1: :+1:

Top Row at Warp 9! :+1:

I really love the classical stuff…FANTASTIC! And you say there’s a better render possible? Find somewhere to do it and show us! :grimacing:
