Environments/Maps Sculpted in Zbrush

Hello everyone,

I just got started using Zbrush not long ago and have been trying to learn things a bit at a time.

I have a quick question, has anyone seen or know if its possible to say sculpt a full map/environment in Zbrush, for a 2d game? I have been toying with the idea but I am unsure of how I could get a 2048x2048 (arbitrary map size in pixels) plane to sculpt on. Something else I noticed, if I did this and wanted to use fibermesh for generating foliage or grass, it seems I hit my limit on points pretty quickly before filling out the area.

Sculpting is so much more natural to me than poly modelling or pixel art for that matter. I am just trying to gauge if I am just spinning my wheels hoping to supplement a 3/4 or top down 2d project with Zbrush.
