Edges and points not visible without perspective

Hello,
I like to move and select points, edges and polygons in ortographic view when “polymodeling” in zbrush. My problem is that they are not visible if I am looking at single sided models from all angels. See attached images. Anyone know how to handle this?

In this situation you will probably want to rotate the model slightly so the target point is visible, draw a masking marquee (ctrl-drag) around the target vert or vertices, invert the mask by ctrl-clicking on the canvas, and THEN reposition your mesh orthogonally and move the points.

Remember also, that as long as your gizmo or transpose line has been aligned to the angle you want, it will move the points in that direction no matter the angle you’re viewing the model at if you drag the arrows or hold down shift when dragging with transpose.

I think I was a bit unclear. I am ok with moving in perspective, the new transform gismo is awesome. What I want is to be able to make selections in a fast and effective manner

I told you the best way I know how to select specific points for moving verts that overlap in an orthogonal view. You can’t select them from the side, obviously. You must mask-isolate them prior to moving so those are the only points that can move.

How fast this is depends entirely on how skilled you are working with masking marquees in zbrush.

The only alternative to this would be a 4 way view found in most traditional polygonal modelers where you can view all sides of a model at once. Zbrush does not have that feature. You must rotate your model frequently and become adept at isolating sections with visibility and masking functions.

Thank you for trying to help. I assume this is a known issue and will be adressed in the next version of Zbrush.

There is no issue. Everything is working as intended . What is it that you’re expecting, or unable to do?

Ok.
