Easy Way To Hug Surface?

Hello! I’m new to ZBrush, and I was wondering if there was an easy built in solution to make an object hug the surface of the object quickly?

Here is my example: exampleB — ImgBB
I want the entire shape be touching the sphere, I know how to do this manually with the ‘deformer’ tool, but I was wondering if there was an easier way that I just don’t know about -

Thank you for your time!

Hello @RoyalSkies ,

You have several options for this situation.

  1. Insert the mesh with an IM brush, and use the Brush> Modifiers> Projection Strength feature. Keep the point count on your inserted mesh as low as you can while still sufficient to deform. This feature has a performance cap, and if your point count is too high you may experience stability issues. You can subdivide the mesh after it has been deformed to smooth it.

  2. Use the Matchmaker brush.

  3. The Dynamics simulation may also be effective depending on the situation, but will likely require some trial and error. Again, keep your point count low.

Depending on what you are trying to do, it may also be more effective to simply displace the shape from the mesh with an alpha. This will result in the shape naturally following the contours of the mesh.

Good luck!
