E3 Wrap up! What are the game developers using for the next gen

feel free to move this into the appropriate forum.

E3 was amazing this year. Lots of great stuff shown on the PS3 and Xbox360(oh yeah and the pc too, the 1 or 2 games that are coming out for it). The developers of some of the most anticipated games I found out are using Zbrush and then there are some that are not. Those that are comment on how efficent, easy and enjoyable its made their workflow. Everything from repeating detailed textures to creating particle effects...Zbrush is being used. I even got one of the artists at Epic to show me on his laptop how he's using Zbrush. They are using to actually do displacement in their game engine. A few artists at The collective were talking about how its made details on things like guns and weaponary so much easier to achieve. Then there are those that will really put down Zbrush and say they either a) can't figure out its interface or b) can't figure out how to use it to achieve what they want. A couple of artists at Crytek pointed out how they found building a high res character in their main app far easier then using zbrush as it simplifies things. A few artists I met at Konami working on Metal Gear Solid team, just claim that amongst development time they have no time to learn it. Luckliy one of them had a tablet PC and Zbrush on it, I was able to show them some stuff and explain through things that seemed confusing to them. All in all it was a good show this year and its nice to see the bar raised when it comes to graphics and animation in games

Awesome! Thanks for the update.
